News Update June, 2017.

News, News, News:

Whosashadylady continued on her good form during May with a good win at Young followed by placings at Bathurst, a third in the heat of the Breeders Challenge series and a really good effort to finish second in a 3YO race coming from last at the 300 metres mark to go down by a metre.  She will go to Bathurst again this coming Wednesday (7th June) before contesting the semi final of the Breeders Challenge series at Menangle on the 17th June.  Since arriving from New Zealand the Bettors Delight filly has had 8 starts for a win, 3 seconds, 3 thirds and a fourth.  She has been very consistent and we hope that she can continue on this form into the Breeders Challenge Finals.

Our Alta Christiano yearling gelding has been sold and will head to the stables of John Tormey at Charlton.  The new owners will really enjoy having this bloke around as he is a lovely horse to do anything with and Mark Watson, who broke him in, was very pleased with they way he went.  I believe he is the first horse for the owners so we at Yorkshire Park wish them all the best.  Go Ricky!!!

Keep an eye out for one of the Yorkshire Park horses sold through the Australasian Premier Trotting sale a couple of years ago called Jilliby Babavska.  Yorkshire Park purchased the mare La Tonneralla, a half sister to two NZ Derby winners in foal to Sundon.  All reports are that he is going along quite nicely and hopefully will grace the racetrack again shortly.  The mare has produced a colt by Majestic Son which is in the care of Chris Alford and a weanling filly by Angus Hall who is a stunning individual.

All our weanlings are expected to arrive home at Yorkshire Park this week and we eagerly await their arrival.  Two trotting fillies by Angus Hall & Majestic Son and two pacing fillies by Western Terror and Rock N Roll Heaven will arrive this week.

Congratulations to one of our trainers Graham Lyon on the impressive win during the week of Mana Master at Echuca.  After galloping early he gave them 40 metres start before circling the field three wide for a lap and going on to win by a head.  A terrific performance by the Passmaster Hanover gelding.

Well done to the Michael Bellman on his drive with All Done Up at Maryborough on Thursday.  The Yorkshire Park bred filly by Mach Three chalked up her third win and took her earnings to just over $36,000 in an impressive time of 1.58.0 over the 2100 metre journey.  There is not a lot of her in size but always gives her best and no doubt there will be more wins in store for her.

That’s about all for now.

Good luck and good punting.
