News Update October 15

**Update 25th October**

On the breeding scene we are pleased to report the arrival of two new colt foals over the last couple of weeks.  First of all a colt by Alta Christiano out of Ima Ritzi Lombo then followed by a colt by Pet Rock out of My Little Black Dress.  We have a little bit of a break now before our next expected arrival with a Sportswriter, Courage Under Fire and an Auckland Reactor to follow.

On the racing scene Watch the Dream continues to fill minor placing with a second and a third placing recently.  This time in she has finished with three seconds and a third from her four starts.  Let’s hope on Monday 26th all that changes with a win.  Also pleasing to hear that Whitney H is progressing well and the Art Major filly leased to the Caldow stable continues to make good progress.  From New Zealand John Hay reports that our 2 YO filly I Can Dream is back in work and progressing well.  John reports that she is a lot more mature and coming along nicely.   We are also pleased to see Artful Christian (Major In Art x Fay Christian) won his trial at Ballarat on Saturday morning over 2200 metres in 2.1.5, last half in 59.5, last quarter in 28.7.  Trained by Chris Svanosio the gelding looks as if he will venture to Terang for his debut Monday week.

**Ist October**

Plenty to report for the start of October with a new addition to the stable from a breeding perspective, two new foals on the ground, another Yorkshire Park bred horse wins his first race and Watch The Dream continues to race well on her return to the track.

On the breeding side we welcome our new 3 win trotting broodmare “Sixty Plus” by Sundon out of Laurel Creek who is a half sister to the $3M dollar winner Lyell Creek.  Sixty Plus will be served by Angus Hall and remain in NZ for the time being.  Jewel Bromac (by Major In Art out of Jillbo) arrived from New Zealand last week and she is due to foal to Auckland Reactor in December.  Jewel Bromac is on lease from Bromac Lodge in NZ and we thank Bob McArdle for his support with this mare.  She will be served by Falcon Seelster after foaling.

We also have seen the arrival of two foals to date, a colt by Majestic Son out of La Tonneralla and a filly by A Rocknroll Dance out of Vickymurphy.  Both foals are doing well and we anxiously await a well over due foal out of Ima Ritzi Lombo by Alta Christiano who should arrive any day.

On the racing seen it was great news to see Changeover Fella (Changeover – Back Cover Lover) bred by Yorkshire Park salute for his first race win at Penrith on the 17th September.  Mack as we called him was purchased by Brian Tuddenham of Sting Lika Bee fame and had proven to be a bit of a challenge early on.  Since his win at Penrith he has also finished 2nd & 3rd at subsequent starts.  Whilst on Back Cover Lover her 2 Y O filly by Major In Art still owned by  Yorkshire Park will leased to new owners and head to the Graham Lyon stables at Kyabram this week.

Watch The Dream has returned to the racetrack in good form being placed second at each of her three starts back to the track.  Beaten by small margins in fantastic times at Newcastle she is knocking on the door for win number five.  To date she has had four wins and four seconds from her 17 starts and $21,000 in prize money.  On that note it will be good to see her reacquainted with her normal driver Lauren Panella who returns from injury later this month.

Whitney H has returned to the John Caldow stable last week after a six week break.  She looks terrific and we can’t wait to get her back to the race track.  Last year we leased an Art Major filly to John and we are also pleased to see her back in work as well.

On Saturday 10th October we ventured to Shepparton for the Victorian Harness Breeders presentation night and I must congratulate the VHB for an excellent night.  Yorkshire Park picked up a time pin for the efforts of Social Fireball (Courage Under Fire – Lombo Socialite) for her 2 Y O Trotting win at Maryborough in 2.3.0.

Plenty of news at Yorkshire Park so far this month and we look forward to updating you with the arrival of our next group of foals to be born in the coming months.

Talk soon.
