News Update May,2016

News, News, News

Watch The Dream will make her racetrack return on the 24th May at Shepparton for new trainer Graham Lyon from  Kyabram to be driven by Damian Wilson.  Yorkshire Park is excited to see the Bettors Delight mare back at the races and look forward to a strong performance after two very good trials.  “Go Dreamy”

On the injury update Whitney H has fully recovered from her operation on her pastern and is now enjoying time out in the paddock.  While we won’t see her back at the race track the Changeover mare will head to the breeding barn this coming season most likely to be served by Art Major.  A big thanks to Dr Alistair McLean and his daughter Elizabeth for taking such good care of Whitney.

News Update:

Watch The Dream went to the trials at Shepparton last week, her first hit out for the Graham Lyon stables, and I’m pleased to say she didn’t let us down in the way she performed.  Finishing second beaten  3 metres to the well performed San Carlo in 1.59.5 last half in 57.7 driven by Damien Wilson she will certainly take improvement out of the trial.  On the back of that we will trial her again this Thursday (12th) at Shepparton and with improvement in condition we will look to find a race for her in the next couple of weeks.

Pearlescent in the John Caldow stables heads back to the trials at Melton tomorrow (10th) after an indifferent trial a couple of weeks ago.  We will be looking for an improved performance from the daughter of Art Major tomorrow before hopefully making her racetrack debut.

Stylish Icon (For A Reason) will most likely go for a spell in the next week or so and we are thinking that a month break will do her the world of good.  She has come a long way in her first preparation and she certainly shows positive signs for her racing future.

Artful Christian (Major In Art) leased to Chris & Peter Svanosio is also on the return to the race track following two very good performances in his first racing preparation.  Great to see Chris back working horses after his recent illness and we wish him all the very best in his ongoing recovery.

The first of our foals have been weaned and we will now commence the process for the next group which will start next Saturday 14th.  In this lot will be colts by Sportswriter, Courage Under Fire, Pet Rock and Auckland Reactor.

Yorkshire Park is having a reduction sale with mares in foal to Village Jolt, Mr. Feelgood, Lincoln Royal and Rock N Roll Heaven all being put up for sale.  If anyone is interested please give us a call and we will be happy to talk to you about what is on offer.  Refer to our sales section of this web site.

That’s about it for now.

Talk soon.
