News Update January,2017

News, News, News

Welcome to 2017, another year commences and we hope that everyone had a great X Mas and celebrated well welcoming in the new year.

On the racing scene we all but got the cash with Watch The Dream on New Years Night finishing a close second beaten a neck at Echuca in a fast finishing effort which was really pleasing how she hit the line.  Dreamy is a very consistent mare and hopefully luck turns her way shortly having now recorded ten second placings in her career.  During December she finished fourth at Bendigo and third at Elmore so I guess her form says she is working up to a well deserved win.  Let’s hope that her next engagement at Shepparton on Friday day 6th January will be that win despite drawing awkwardly in barrier five.  We will leave it up to Damian Wilson to decide on what position we take up from the tricky barrier.

Stylish Icon will head to the trials at Bendigo on Monday night as she begins her second race track appearance under the guidance of Paul Campbell.  She has done particularly well this time in and will need a couple of trials to get her ready for the race track.  Hopefully she will perform well on Monday night.

Whosashadylady has gone to the paddock for a month off after arriving from New Zealand.  Trainer Amanda Turnbull thought it best to give her a short let up before resuming her racing career.  By Bettors Delight the filly is not overly big and will appreciate the short break following a tough run at Ashburton and the plane trip over to Sydney.

Great to see the Graham Lyon trained Getthenet chalk up three wins in a row since returning to the race track during December which now gives the mare three wins, three seconds and three thirds from fifteen starts.  Looks as though there will be more wins in store for the mare on her recent form.

On the breeding front I’m please to say that we have had our last foal for the season just prior to X Mas when Sixty Plus delivered a filly by Majestic Son.  This year has really been the year of the filly for us with other fillies by Western Terror, Angus Hall and Rock N Roll Heaven arriving safely.

We have also been able to confirm that Vickymurphy (in foal to Somebeachsomewhere), Lombo Socialite (in foal to Sportswriter) and Ima Ritzi Lombo (in foal to Village Jolt) have all been confirmed in foal along with Whitney H (in foal to Art Major).  We also have 15 day positive tests for My Little Black Dress (Heston Blue Chip) and La Tonneralla (Love You) and await results for Jewel Bromac (Alta Christiano) in the coming weeks.

Yorkshire Parks three colts entered for the Melbourne APG sale on the 5th of February, 2017 have arrived safely at Dean & Blanche Poole’s at Shepparton as they prepare the colts for the sales.  Yorkshire Park will have the only Alta Christiano Colt in the Melbourne sale along with Colts by Pet Rock and Courage Under Fire.  All colts are out of winning producing mares and we look forward to sales day and hopefully a good result.  Our remaining three colts by Sportswriter, Auckland Reactor and Majestic Son will be presented at the Melbourne Autumn sale in April.

Don’t forget to get yourself along to the Country Cups circuit in the coming months and the Victoria and Hunter Cups as the harness racing season really hots up.  It is a great time of the year for harness racing with the best of the best doing battle for some serious prize money and bragging rights.  It’s a time that can be enjoyed by all of the family so don’t hold back get to the trots!!!

That’s about it for now.

Talk soon.
