News Update August 2020

A little bit late with our monthly update but as they say better late than never.

On the racing scene congratulations to the owners of Azterian after the consistent 2YO saluted at Cranbourne for trainer Maree Caldow and driver John  Caldow.  Also great to see one of our old favourites Pearlescent winning at Echuca and Hancocks Hero also saluting at Charlton recently.  All three deserve their recent wins and on behalf of Yorkshire Park we congratulate the owners.

She Will Rock returned to the trials earlier this month with a solid second in good time at Maryborough.  She will take a lot of improvement from that trial and we expect to see her at the trials again later this month.  The talented Rock N Roll Heaven filly has plenty of upside.

Lutetia Midfrew continued her consistent form in Tasmania and is knocking on the door for another win for trainer Adrian Duggan.  Great to see Adrian is on the improve following that nasty fall last month.

Good reports from trainer Graham Lyon on the progression of Jets Art as he prepares to make his race track return while Classy Countess is back at the trials for the Cranbourne Club 21 syndicate.

Really pleased with the reports out of NZ with our filly Miki Diva (Always B Mikki – Divine Diva) as she progresses in her second preparation.  Lets hope our purchase at the NZ Standardbred yearling sales early this year continues on with her positive progression.

We are fast approaching the breeding season and as always look forward to the arrival of our foals this year.  All three are due in November so it will be a very exciting month coming up.

Our weanlings are progressing well all be it a bit wet at the moment with the amount of rain we have experienced over the last three months.  Really looking forward to the Nutrien Equine Standardbred sale in April which we will present three colts and two fillies in the sale.

The past six months have been really challenging for all with the events of COVID 19 and subsequent lock downs that people have endured.  It is a tough time so make sure you follow all the health advice and keep an eye out for family and friends to ensure we all look after each other.  We will get through this and we can’t wait until we can get back to the races.

Stay safe

Yorkshire Park team.
