NEWS Update 28 August

A terrific run by Miss Maia (Majestic Son x Sixty Plus) in the Breeders Crown Group 3 Silver Series final at Geelong, just going down by a half head in a driving finish.  Trained & driven by Matt Craven the Yorkshire Park bred filly was terrific in defeat after galloping early and giving away 20 metres at the start.  No doubt a win is not far away.

NEWS UPDATE: August 2019

Racing at times can be a tough game with its high & lows but none more on the low side with the career ending injury to one of Yorkshire Parks favourite horses in Artful Christian at Bendigo last week.  Bred by Yorkshire Park the son of Major In Art was originally leased to Peter & Chris Svanosio before they decided to purchase him outright.  The winner of 11 races and placed in a further 27 races from 87 starts winning almost $80,000, Banker as he was called suffered a severe tendon injury which required and operation to stitch the tendon back together.  The good news to date is that he is recovering well from the operation and will be recouperating under the guidance of Alistair McLean.  We all hope that Banker continues to improve and eventually enjoys his retirement in a nice paddock.

On the racing scene both Magical & Miss Maia raced at Maryborough on Redwood day in two seperate divisions of the 2YO Trotting fillies Redwood consultation with both performing very well.  Miss Maia finished second in her race while Magical finished third.  While on Redwood day a big congratulations to the Maryborough Club on an outstanding day of racing and entertainment.  President Peter Egan & Manager Les Chapman have done a wonderful job and should be congratulated.

Yorkshire Park bred and part owned filly She Will Rock is close to returning to the track and looking to continue on her winning way while Alta Mach part owned by Yorkshire Park is also on her way back from injury under the care of Amanda Turnbull.  Cannot wait to get these two back to the track.

Our yearling filly Dreams Are Bettor has completed her second preparation and continues to impress.  A big thank you to Luke Bryant from Ravitalli Standardbreds who has been looking after recently following our normal trainer Graham Lyon not enjoying the best of health.  Lets hope Lyonsy is back on deck shortly and enjoying better health.

Not much action on the breeding scene at the moment but no doubt in the next month things will start to get busy.  Masterkova will be served by American Ideal in the coming season and we will announce who our other mares will be going to in the next week or so.

Looking forward to another month of exciting racing with our Yorkshire Park bred or owned horses.  Don’t forget if you are interested in joining us in a syndicate give me a call or drop me an email.
