News Update September, 2018.

News, News, News:

The last month has been a little quieter for Yorkshire Park on the racing scene with Lutetia Midfrew in the paddock for three months, Whosashadylady being sold and heading to the Tim O’Brien stable and the recently syndicated Rock N Roll Heaven 2YO filly still a month away from heading back in to training.

On the breeding scene we will have to wait until later in October before the first of our foals arrive so we are anxiously awaiting a busy month in November with more foals on the way.  We have now finalised our breeding for this year and we will be sending six mares back to stud, five pacers and one trotter.

Last Sunday we joined Harness Breeders Victoria and Thoroughbred Breeders Victoria on a combined stud tour which seen as spend time at Swettenham Thoroughbred Stud and then of to Alabar Harness Stud.  It was a fantastic day with a lovely lunch at a Winery in between both studs.  A big thank you to Adam Sangster at Swettenham and his staff and to Alan Galloway at Alabar and his team for providing their time to show us around and how operationally the studs both work and also to parade their stallions on the day.  It was a fantastic day with both codes working well together to showcase the breeding scene.  Highly recommend the day if it happens next season.

Great to see another Yorkshire Park horse being named and getting ready for the racetrack from our 2017 APG Sales contingent.  Glenauril King by Courage Under Fire out of Lombo Socialite was sold at the 2017 sales to the Barry Dunn stables so we will keep a close eye on him.  From the six horses sold in the 2017 sales five have been named and four already at the race track.

That’s about all for now.

Good luck and good punting.
