News Update October 2020

Great to be back on deck to provide an update on all things standardbreds at Yorkshire Park and the coming months as we enter into better weather and hopefully an easing of restrictions due to COVID 19.

On the racing scene it was great to see an old favourite of ours, Aitutaki greet the judge at Devonport recently with a stylish win.  He was one of the very first horses Yorkshire Park offered through the APG sales and he has been an old warrior over the journey.  Jets Art resumed racing with three consistent performances being placed in all three but yet to break through.  The Major In Art gelding is not far away from a win after going down by a head today at Charlton.  She Will Rock return to the race track following an operation to remove bone chips from her knee has been a little inglorious.  After choking down and failing to finish at her race track return she then ventured to Cranbourne over a mile and never got into the race at all.  She is in good nick and no doubt we will see better performances soon. Other Yorkshire Park bred horses back at the track are Magical, Maestro and Syzate along with Hancocks Hero and Lutetia Midfrew.  Lutetia Midfrew continues to be very consistent with four placed runs out of her last five starts.  She goes around again at Hobart on Tuesday night (20th) and has drawn to be a good chance.

On the breeding scene our mares Masterkova, Watch The Dream and Our Narissa Franco are all due to foal in November so we look forward to having three foals on the ground safe and well.

The 2021 Nutrien Standardbred sales catalogue will be out shortly and we look forward to the April sale.  Yorkshire Park have drawn the following lot numbers in the sale:

Lot 15 – Yankee Rockstar – Ima Ritzi Lombo Filly.

Lot 42 – Used To Me – La Tonneralla Colt.

Lot 109 – TinTin In America – Our Narissa Franco Colt.

Lot 182 – Sunshine Beach – Vickymurphy Colt.

Lot 185 – Art Major – Watch The Dream Filly.

All five will be prepared by Blanche & Dean Poole at Rhiannon Park.  Stay tuned for updates in the coming months on their progression to the sales.

That’s about all for now.

Stay safe

Yorkshire Park team.
