News Update 30 May

Fantastic to see the return of Jilliby Babvska at Maryborough today after 18 months off the scene.  The talented trotter put them to the sword today to win impressively by 5.3 metres untouched in 2.1.5.  Congratulations to Paddy Lee on his patience and work to get this bloke back to the track,  Big tick for Paddy & driver Glen Craven.

News Update:

A good win for the Yorkshire Park bred Glenavril King on the 15 May at Terang winning by half head in 1.57.8.  Congratulations to Barry & Aaron Dunn on the Courage Under Fire gelding chalking up his first win at start 4.

News: News: News:

Lots to report on this month with a number of Yorkshire Park bred horses making their race track debuts and the return to the trials of another, promising trotter in Jilliby Babavska.

This month we see the Yorkshire Park bred Angus Hall trotting filly Magical compete in Saturday nights Group 1 Vic Bred Home Grown Classic at Tabcorp Park Melton.  To date she has shown plenty of ability although her manners have let her down a little resulting in her drawing the outside of the second row.   She will need some luck from there but we wish the owners and Brent Lilley all the best for the race.  She will be driven by Chris Alford who may bring up his 100th Group 1 win if she salutes.

Glenavril King (Courage Under Fire – Lombo Socialite) made his race track debut last month and has been very competitive with two 5th placings and a close second.  Tonight at Terang he gets his chance to break through in a 3YO drawing barrier 5 and to be driven by Aaron Dunn.  Yorkshire Park owned Lutetia Midfrew has been getting closer to the place getters with two very good runs recently in Tasmania.

Great to see Jilliby Babavska back at the trial this week after a long break due to injury.  The 3YO Breeders Crown runner up sat back in the trial and worked home nicely to finish second without driver Glen Craven really asking for too much.  Well done to Paddy Lee for his patience and commitment to getting him back to the track.

Also at the rial recently was Hancocks Hero (3rd) and She Will Rock who qualified at her first go at the trials.  Hopefully we will see both of these horses at the races shortly.

On the breeding scene our three weanlings will return home on Sunday to Yorkshire Park and commence a bit more education.  Looking forward to having them back home.

Good reports out of Cranbourne on our yearling filly by Village Jolt who has been leased to Club 21 group.  She seems to have settled in well to her new surrounds and will hopefully continue to improve.  She is in the care of former NZ trainer Dylan Marshall at the Cranbourne training complex.

Two of Yorkshire Parks other yearlings (Sportswriter colt) & (Artspeak filly) have been broken in by Luke Bryant and moved to Kyabram under the care of Graham Lyon for a short stint.  Both have done very well and we look forward to seeing how they fair in the coming months.
