News Update July,2016

News, News, News

It’s almost time!!  Yes Yorkshire Park is relocating to our new home at Carlsruhe on 53 acres all set up and ready to go.  The property is well set up for breeding and raising our horses with well fenced paddocks, six box stable complex,  round yard, 7 spelling paddocks with shelters an equestrian arena and a large broodmare spelling paddock .  To add to the many horse facilities which over look Mt Macedon the property also has 500 established Olive trees producing quality organic Olive Oil.  Currently known as “The Grove” Yorkshire Park look forward to the next step in our breeding operation.

The last month has provided a number of highlights for Yorkshire Park bred and raised horses with Social Fireball winning the Group 3 $25,000 Super Sires Silver Series for 3 YO Trotting fillies by 19.8 metres in an outstanding performance.  A big well done to Brooke Hansen and Tim O’Brien on a memorable night at Melton.

Go Home Jo (Roll With Joe – I’m A Ritzi Lombo) notched up her first win in the $12,000 2 YO Fillies Super Sires Silver series at Melton with a gutsy all the way win after a really good effort finishing 6th in the Group 1 NSW Breeders Challenge for 2 YO fillies after a horror barrier draw only going down by 10 metres.  She then followed up with a luckless 6th in the Group 2 Tatlow Stakes for 2 YO fillies at Melton last Saturday night.  Based on her efforts to date she will no doubt  chalk up more wins in the future.

Great to see the Yorkshire Park bred and leased Artful Christian (Major In Art) winning at Maryborough today following three really good runs prior, two of those finishing second.  Leased by Bendigo Harness Racing Club Committeeman Peter Svanosio, trained and driven by his son Chris, the 3 YO has been really impressive to date in a solid 1.58.2 mile rate.

On the racing scene Yorkshire Park owned horses Watch The Dream (Bettors Delight) has gone to the paddock for a well deserved spell finishing the season with 17 starts for 9 seconds and 2 thirds,  2 YO Stylish Icon (For A Reason) will venture to the trials this coming Sunday to qualify and I Can Dream (If I Can Dream) is coming along nicely in New Zealand under the care of John Hay at Ashburton.
