News Update April, 2018.

Update 22nd April.

Alta Mach made it two wins from two Australian starts when she smashed the field to win by 28.7 metres in 1.59.3 at Junee driven by trainer Amanda Turnbull on Sunday.  Blasting to the lead from gate five it was never in doubt as she increased her lead as the race went on.  An impressive performance by the Mach Three 4YO mare.

Update 14th April.

Alta Mach delivered at her first Aussie start with a 10.8 metre win at Junee on Saturday driven by Nathan Turnbull.  Drawing the outside of the second row Turnbull made his move early to take over the running with two laps to go and won in impressive fashion.  Alta Mach will now head to the final at Junee on Sunday for her next race.

Update 9th April.

Yorkshire Park is pleased to announce that we have taken an interest in the Mach Three 4YO Alta Mach who trialled at Bathurst tonight.  The mare has had six starts in NZ for 2 seconds, 1 third and a fourth was impressive enough at Bathurst trials tonight winning by 4.5 metre in 1.59.6 driven by Amanda Turnbull.  Alta Mach joined the Amanda Turnbull stable recently after being purchased out of NZ.  Alta Mach is out of the good broodmare Alta Vista who has produced Five Star Anvil 33 wins $779K, Lets Elope 25 wins $549K and Down Under Stride 13 wins to date and $95K in prize money.

News, News, News:

Good news for Yorkshire Park today with Artful Christian greeting the judge at Mildura tonight in 1.58.4 winning by 11.3 metres to register career win number ten and go past the $50k prize money mark.  He has been a terrific horse over the journey to date and will no doubt have a few more wins left in him yet.  Congratulations to Chris & Peter Svanosio who have done a wonderful job with him during his racing career.  Not bad for a horse that went to the APG sales and couldn’t get any interest in him at all.  That’s the great uncertainty, sometimes they turn up from all avenues.

The Yorkshire Park owned Whosashadylady continues to be a model of consistency in Tasmania without breaking through being placed at five of her last six starts.  Maybe a win is just around the corner for the Bettors Delight mare as she heads to Devonport Friday night with trainer Adrian Duggan.  Both our two year olds in NZ are getting close to returning to the trials under the care of John Hay.  Lutetia Midfrew is slightly ahead in her preparation over Rosa Parks so by the end of the month we will have a good indication as to how they are progressing.

Last month we reported that Yorkshire Park had syndicated the Rock N Roll Heaven filly out of My Little Black Dress and she has now headed to the care of Paul Campbell to be broken in.  Paul is very pleased with her progress and she will be in the cart at some stage this week.  So far so good for the new owners.

The weaning process has begun for our foals this year along with some education before returning back to Yorkshire Park.  Thanks to Northern Rivers Equine and Josh for their time and patience with the babies.

Plenty of work going on at Yorkshire Park with hedges being trimmed, pastures to be sown down and some further fencing and shelters to be built.  The investment into the property mounts up but it is well worth the time, money and effort to ensure we provide the best possible facilities.

That’s about it for now but we will provide further updates during the month.

Good luck and good punting.
